I am a director of IPGL Limited, a private holding company in which Michael Spencer, the founder and Chief Executive of ICAP plc, together with his wife and family trusts, are the majority shareholders. The group has large minority or majority holdings in over 15 public and private companies including 21 per cent. of ICAP plc, the FTSE 100 listed interdealer broker and a majority holding of City Index, a leading provider of CFD and spread betting services. Other interests include companies in asset management, insurance, securities broking, and Islamic finance.

 

As well as co-managing our portfolio of investee companies, I am responsible for making new investments in the financial services and gambling sectors. We are typically interested in fast growing, non-balance sheet intensive financial services companies and typically invest between £1m to £20m per company.

 

Previously I was an investment director at venture capital firm MMC Ventures and prior to that I worked for Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance. I am a qualified chartered accountant.
